A group of Canadian Musicians have formed the Canadian Music Creators Coalition in order to bring a new voice to the digital music revolution debate. Steven Page of Barenaked Ladies is one of the founding members of the CMCC and I had the privilege of speaking with him last evening.

Excellent interview Mark.
Nice one.
Thanks, Chris! It was a fun and interesting interview to be a part of. Steven is incredibly smart and well spoken.
Finally some well organized discussion on this very necessary topic!
A big thanks to both of you. I hope Ottawa will listen to our artists’ concerns and realize Canada’s potential to be “progressive and innovative” as Steven put it so well.
Cheers.
If anyone is going to get Ottawa to think outside of the box, it’s steve page! This is such a grassroots effort with deep roots in the music industry. I am excited to see what this group can do for themselves and their fans.
Fine job mark!
Good Work. Keep it up!
Thanks Chris, Pat, John and Susan! As you can imagine, I always appreciate the feedback.
Great interview. Provides an interesting perspective on the music industry as a whole.
Great Interview and podcast on one
of the serious issues of our times.
I heard selling USB sticks with the
media by the artists themselves mentioned. How does this work?
Is there any update on this ?
Excellent interview! Nice.
Thanks for the Steven Page interview
Thanks for the interview. I also read an article by Nate Anderson for Ars Technica who spoke to Steven Page about a compulsory license model that would allow consumers access to all the music they want and would ensure that artists get paid.
It will be interesting to see how everything works out in the next few months/years.
I enjoyed the great article on intellectual property. There’s alot more to it then I thought!
